Bon Chon, Il Terrazzo

Sunday, August 13, 2012 – Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaam BON CHON! Last Sunday, San and I decided to go to the Rustan’s Supermarket in Il Terrazzo. Before doing that, we had dinner at Bon Chon.

I first heard of Bon Chon from my cousin about 1 1/2 years ago. If I remember correctly,  I saw a branch in SM Megamall and in Greenbelt. And then BOOM! It became a fad and branches sprung up everywhere! My first taste came in the Ayala triangle branch. I went with my officemates and had the spicy version. What? I can’t be expected to have the only non-spicy chicken. Needless to say, my stomach acted up and I was in pain the whole day.

Service

Another thumbs up. It’s sort of fast food but they serve your orders fast. We had to repeat our orders for water but it was an error in transmission of the request. Why the thumbs up? We brought my cousin Jayan with us and he had to go to the bathroom. They didn’t have one and you have to go out to use the mall’s. When I asked a waiter for directions, Jayan was already out the door. The guy went out after him to tell him where to go. Now, that’s good service!

Price

Team Bon Chon – Php 645

Fish Taco – Php 75

Rice – Php 15@

Tax is already included.

Food

It’s Korean flavored chicken with skin so crispy due to being dipped into super hot cooking oil. To be honest, they had me at fried chicken. haha That it’s super tasty is just a plus. They serve it in two flavors – soy garlic and spicy.

We ordered their group meal called Team Bon Chon which is why we now call ourselves that. Maybe Jayan will be interested and become a foodie. He already has the body for it. hahaha The meal consists of any medium order of chicken, 2 side dishes, 4 rice, and 4 regular drinks. We ordered two more rice and San had an additional fish taco – fish fillet in pita bread.

We ordered a mix of soy garlic and spicy chicken. Jayan’s stomach ached and so did mine. ha ha

Verdict

If they start offering a mix between the soy garlic and spicy, they’ll have a suki for sure. I like how the soy garlic tastes but I like a little punch. Their spicy chicken is too much for me, though. You should give it a try. Thumbs up!

I have a question. I read that people are not interested in my thoughts and I should just get to the point. But I feel like it’s part of who I am. It gives character to my posts. What do you think? Should I stop?

I seldom visit il terrazzo, but have tried almost all the restaurant there, one of my favorite is Yoogane.

      Hi Tina,

My wife is into makeup and we go to a shop in the third floor there. We’ll try Yoogane next time.

      Thanks for sharing. :)
